How to Avoid Mob Mentality
1. Stop, Think, Do
When you see a situation stop and think about what the right decision might be for yourself and then act accordingly, rather then following what others are doing.
2. Evaluate
Evaluate any information given to you. We are constantly bombarded with untruth that is presented as facts. Most often this is done by politicians and advertisement, competitors who want to create a bad image of their rivals. They do so by using our mob mentality.
3. Be Creative
You cannot always go to others for ideas and options on how to run your life. Using your own imagination by channelling your own thoughts and ideas is a lot more rewarding then by going off what people tell you to do when you don’t necessarily want to do it. Getting ideas from others is different but remember to stay creative.
4. Make goals for yourself
Goals give us that motivation to strive for what you truly want to succeed in. It gives people more of a direction in what they want to do and affects their personal decisions in their day-to-day lives. Goals are an effective way to avoid mob mentality because it makes someone more likely to move in directions based on their personal preferences, ideas and beliefs and not someone else’s.
5. Say No
If you don’t agree to something even if the rest of the crowd are for it, doesn’t mean you have to follow them for the sake of being apart of the crowd. It’s typically called being a sheep because sheep don’t question the herd they just follow and walk in unison. Just because everyone else is doing it, doesn’t mean you have to. Say no to what you’re against and walk the opposite way. You may be surprised with the end result.
6. Don't apologise for being yourself and/or for your background.
It is important to embrace who you are and not hide who you truly are. You have to remember when someone is sending you hate or negativity for being different its not because your necessarily in the wrong or did something wrong but its people’s emotions which they project onto you out of in the moment
7. Be confident in every action you take
For every action there is of equal opposite reaction so it’s saying we can achieve nothing without paying the price. Rising above narrow-minded pettiness and prejudice and using all your courage to help yourself think positively on your own and two think about your goal from all possible angles. Let your imagination speculate free different possible solutions to refuse to believe that there are any circumstances sufficiently strong to defeat you and your accomplishment. To act promptly and prosaically when your course is clear.
